The green and digital transition through innovation, SME competitiveness, and economic resilience: Evidence from the European Union economies

Abstract. In recent years, green and digital transition, innovation, SME competitiveness, and economic resilience have become significant issues in the new economic theory. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the importance of innovation, SME competitiveness, and economic resilience in achieving efficiency in the green and digital transitions in the European Union economies by using a variety of methodological measurement tools. This study makes a contribution by revealing the new outlook for the green and digital transitions and by examining the connections between indicators of innovation, economic resilience, and SME competitiveness in the EU economies. The findings of this research could be beneficial to policymakers. The foundation for the eventual acceptability of economic actions and priorities is the variety in ranking positions among crucial metrics.
